  Minerals Management Service, of the U.S. Department of the Interior, provides information on onshore and offshore minerals production, especially oil and gas resource areas.

  Science.gov Science information and results of scientific research. A collaborative effort of 12 federal science agencies, this search engine goes into the deep web of databases and more than 50 million pages of scientific information. It serves as a gateway to more than 1800 scientific web sites.

  U.S. Geological Survey A good starting point for earth science information and data

  USGS Geological Hazards Website includes information, publications, and links on landslide, earthquake and geomagnetic hazards.

  NOAA's Drought Information Center

  San Francisco Bay Area, California Climate Summaries The monthly climate summary for the period of record (often more than 50 years) has data from more than 25 stations, including Berkeley, Richmond, San Jose, and San Francisco and Oakland airports. Average monthly maximum and minimum temperatures and precipitation are given for each station. The Western Regional Climate Center (WRCC) has records for all Western states and links to other climate-monitoring sites.

World Ozone and Ultraviolet Radiation Data Centre (WOUDC) The World Ozone Data Centre (WODC) operates a scientific archive and database providing a variety of ozone data sets to the international scientific community. There are over 300 stations represented in the archive some of which comprise over 35 years of continuous data. Data sets include total column ozone, surface ozone, vertical profile data from ozonesonde flights, lidar measurements and the Umkehr technique.



Oceanography

  InterRidge is an international and interdisciplinary initiative concerned with all aspects of mid-ocean ridges. Its activities range from dissemination of information on existing, single-institution experiments to initiation of fully multi-national projects.
